Storytelling
Creativity
Cooperation and Collaboration

This lesson began with a story sharing how we get ideas. As an example bird was created out of two pinch pots a narrative was shared and ideas exchanged as a whole class activity. Making the bird required persistence, problem solving and risk taking.

“I learned that some things are very hard”

“I learned the head was harder than the body”

Interviewing the kindergartens also consisted of personal stories about their knowledge of birds and also knowledge of colors. Some students connected to real life and nature, some to stories they had read and others to the video game “angry birds”.
